Marijuana rules back before Colorado lawmakers

Medical marijuana rules set by Colorado lawmakers last year haven’t entirely taken effect yet – but already lawmakers are back at work making changes.

A state House committee planned to start work today on a revision to the marijuana rules that govern how pot is grown and sold. That bill set up the nation’s most detailed rules governing who can grow medical marijuana and how it should be sold.

Many of those rules haven’t taken effect yet, including a rule that marijuana transactions be recorded and shared with law enforcement and another rule setting up the nation’s first regulations on the safe production of hashish.

Changes up for debate in this year’s bill include possible new rules for who can work in marijuana dispensaries.
