Springs regional history competition

The final rounds of the Colorado Springs Regional National History Day competition are scheduled for 8 a.m. Feb. 26 at Palmer Hall and Tutt Science Center. Attendance is free.

March 1

Mayoral candidate forum for business leaders

A mayoral candidate forum for business leaders is scheduled from 5:15 to 7:45 p.m. March 1 at the Fine Arts Center, 30 W. Dale St.

UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak will moderate the discussion between six candidates, Steve Bach, Brian Bahr, Tom Gallagher, Buddy Gilmore, Dave Munger and Richard Skorman.

A networking reception with hors d’oeuvres and cash bar will follow the discussion.

The cost for attendance is $10 for students, $15 for those affiliated with event sponsors and $20 for those who are non-affiliated.

Citizens Project Religious Freedom Institute

Citizens Project will hold the Citizens’ Religious Freedom Institute, a one-day seminar addressing how the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects religious freedom in public schools. The event is for teachers, students, parents, administrators, staff and school board members. The event scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.on the UCCS campus. The cost is $25 for general participants and $145 for those seeking in-service credit.
