Pikes Peak library chosen for Sony digital reader program

The Pikes Peak Library District is one of 30 libraries in the nation chosen by Sony to participate in the second phase of its Reader Library Program.

The libraries, in 20 states, will receive in-house training on digital reading devices, educational materials about eBooks, and digital reading devices for library staff to use and give demonstrations. So far, libraries that have participated have reported digital circulations more than doubling in the month following the in-house training.

Sony’s Reader Library Program also includes an in-person training session about digital reading formats and an overview of sources for digital materials

The Mesa County Libraries district in Grand Junction was the only other library in Colorado chosen for this phase of training.
