A Colorado company has won the Nunn-Perry Award for outstanding performance in the United States Defense Department’s Mentor-Protégé program.
ISYS Technologies, headquartered in Littleton with offices in Colorado Springs, received the award for its partnership with Lockheed Martin. The program is designed to help smaller businesses by partnering them with larger companies, with a focus on making their systems and business practices more efficient.
The award was created in 1990 by former Sen. Sam Nunn and was implemented by former defense Secretary William Perry. It recognizes companies who create successful partnerships. The hope is that by partnering larger companies with smaller ones, allowing the small companies will be able to compete for government contracts.
ISYS has about 150 employees, and also has offices in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Utah, Nebraska, Louisiana and Alabama. It won the U.S. Small Business Administration Award for small business subcontractor of the year.
