Colo. Springs woman named SBA’s Colo. 2011 small-business person

Kelly Terrien, founder and CEO of Colorado Springs-based Summit Technical Solutions, has been named the 2011 Colorado Small Business Person of the Year by the Small Business Administration.
An Air Force veteran, Terrien has grown the company from one person in 2001 to more than 350 employees.

“I share this award with the family of STS employees who deserve the credit for success in everything we do. I am indeed humbled and honored by this selection,” Terrien said.

Summit Technical provides services for advanced systems engineering and design; information technology and training; operations and maintenance including communications services; and records management and logistics support for the federal government. Existing clients and contracts include the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Department of State, Federal Aviation Administration and NASA.

In addition to the Springs, STS has offices in Huntsville, Ala., Lee’s Summit, MS, and Ramstein, Germany.
