On April 1, First Friday ArtWalk begins in the historic shopping district in Old Colorado City.

The Friday ArtWalk is a visual arts walking tour featuring art galleries and open artist studios along Colorado Avenue.

ArtWalk runs monthly from April to December, from 5 to 8 p.m., on the first Friday of each month.  Local businesses and corporate sponsors have supported the program, which is free, for six seasons.

About 100 art pieces are displayed for purchase in one location in Old Colorado City’s art galleries. Colorado Springs’ largest concentration of galleries is found within three city blocks along West Colorado Avenue, between 23rd and 27th streets.

Participating galleries include, A Call to Life, Arati Artists Gallery, Colorado Copper, Cucuru Gallery Café, Hunter-Wolff Gallery, The Michael Garman Museum, Kathleen McFadden’s Range Gallery, Simpich Showcase, The Second Floor Studios, The Squash Blossom, Thunder Mountain Trading Co., and Yobel Market.
