Goodwill 50th Anniversary Dinner

Goodwill will celebrate 50 years of improving lives at its April 21 Annual Dinner. Recognition will be extended to businesses and individuals who helped create opportunity and independence for individuals who have overcome barriers to independence.

The public is invited to attend the dinner, which begins at 6 p.m. at The Broadmoor. Tickets are $65 per person or $650 for a table of 10. Reservations are required and can be made by visiting www.goodwill-colosprings.org by April 14.

World Affairs Council breakfast

The Colorado Springs World Affairs Council will host its quarterly International Affairs Breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at 4435 N. Chestnut Street in room 113.

Bill Harris will speak about the topic “Afghanistan: Getting to the End Game.”

The Pikes Peak Library District will host a class from 8 to 10 a.m. April 28 about the role individual donors play in your fundraising strategy, methods for identifying potential major gift donors, and the research tools for effective cultivation and solicitation strategies. Taught by a local banker, topics covered include business loans over $100K, micro loans, and SBA loans. The seminar will also explain the lending process and what lenders are looking for; organizing your loan proposal; how to negotiate a loan; identifying internal and external sources of money; and differentiating between equity and debt financing.

Salvation Army 5K Run/Walk for Hope

The 3rd Annual Salvation Army 5K Run/Walk for Hope is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 25 at The Flying Horse Barefoot Park, 2324 Diamond Creek Drive.

A donation of $35 is suggested. A free T-shirt and water bottle will be offered to participants.
