The Colorado Springs Visitors and Convention Bureau is launching a new marketing campaign to combat high gasoline prices and bring in more drive-in tourists to the city.
The summer tourism promotion is called “Tank full of Summer Savings.” The CBV has combined fuel-themed discounts from its member hotels, attractionsa nd restaurants. All deals can be found at www.VisitCOS.com/fuel.
The web site also includes a gas calculator, ways to find the least expensive gasoline prices and a link to other deals that are part of the “Savings with an Altitude” campaign, launched in 2009.
“This campaign is a great way for the Pikes Peak region to stay top-of-mind with the consumer,” said Amy Long, vice president of marketing and membership for the CVB. “People want to take summer vacations, but may think they can’t afford to. These tools will help them finding hte lowest gas prices, as well as money-savign deals to offset the higher cost of getting here.”
The CVB will continue to solicit member deals and promote fuel-friendly options throughout the summer season.
