National Tourism and Travel week starts Saturday, and the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau is highlighting the industry’s economic impact in the state with a billboard.
The CVB has a live tourism dollar counter at three digital billboard locations in the city. The billboards show the infusion of collars as a direct result of tourism. The counter began in January and is permanently online at www.VisitCOS.com/tourismpays.
The breakdown of dollars to the region:
-$1.3 billion per year
-$3.1 million per day
-$129 thousand per hour
-$2,100 per minute
-$36 a second
The billboards are located at 945 N. Powers Blvd., 4630 Austin Bluffs Parkway and 4275 S. Academy Blvd.
