Hardin named director of state’s business and licensing

Michael Hardin has been named  director of the Secretary of State’s office of Business and Licensing.

The division administers many state laws and rules involving businesses and nonprofits. With 50 employees, it is the largest of four divisions within the secretary of state’s office.

Hardin formerly was CEO of Paradigm Services LLC, vice president of operations for ELM Locating and Utility Services in Golden, and senior director at Utiliquest in Denver, among other business positions. Previously he was a U.S. Army quartermaster.

Hardin will assume his new job May 31. He succeeds Tom Downey, who has been filling the post temporarily.
