Gov. signing health insurance exchange bill today

Colorado is becoming the latest state moving ahead with its own health insurance exchange — but some still question whether it’s a good idea.

Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper is headed to a Lakewood hospital Wednesday to sign a bill setting up a health insurance exchange. That’s an insurance marketplace required under the 2010 federal health care law.

Democratic and Republican sponsors planned to join the governor for the signing and herald the step as a cost-saver for small businesses and individuals seeking health insurance.
