The mountain region’s small business jobs increased by 0.9 percent during this month, according to Intuit Payroll’s latest Small Business Employment Index.
Intuit defines the mountain states as Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada and Wyoming.
The report also found that nearly 685,000 new small business jobs were created in the U.S. since October 2009, including 45,000 in May and that compensation nationwide decreased by 0.14 percent in May and now is $2,624 per month, compared to the revised April figure of $2,628 per month.
The index is based on online employment data from 64,000 small business employers with 20 or fewer employees.
