Foundation provides health grants

Local nonprofits will receive a total of $100,000 in grants from the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation.

The grants are provided to allow more access to care, medicine, nutritious food, counseling, therapy and health education.

The selected nonprofits are: Care and Share food bank, Colorado Springs Therapeutic Riding Center, the Community Health Partnership, the Community Partnership for Child Development, Peak Vista Community Health centers, Pikes Peak Community Action Agency, Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care, Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center, Safe Passage, SET Family Medical Clinics and TLC Pharmacy.

The Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation’s grant program is aimed at improving the nonprofit sector’s capacity to make a positive impact on the community’s health, said Doris Ralston, executive director and CEO of the foundation.

The next deadline to receive grant proposals is Aug. 1.
