The Pikes Peak Workforce Center will open a satellite office in Fountain on June 15.

The office will operate out of the Lorraine Center, run by the Fountain Fort Carson School District, which also houses a satellite office of the El Paso County Department of Human Services and is located at 301 E. Iowa in Fountain.

“In 2010 more than 5,000 customers traveled to the main Pikes Peak Workforce Center offices from Security, Widefield and Fountain,” said El Paso County Commissioner Dennis Hisey.  “This new location will better serve the residents in Southern El Paso County by decreasing their commute for job search assistance and career guidance.”

One person will manage the office and assist job seekers with online job searches and unemployment insurance questions.

The office will also have a resource room equipped with computers with Internet access for job search activities

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center is federally funded.  No county funds are used for its operations.
