At its spring board meeting, the Bee Vradenburg Foundation awarded more than $36,000 in grants to nonprofit arts organizations.

The grants were awarded to Amateur Pianists International, the Business of Art Center, the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale, FutureSelf, Manitou Art Theater and the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival.

The local nonprofit also provided funding for the Manitou Chair Project, a public art installation spearheaded by Sean O’Meallie. It will also help pay for “Bending toward the Light,” a jazz Nativity performance conceived in New York and reproduced in Colorado Springs with local musicians and singers.
