Boulder has decided to eliminate sugary and fattening snacks from vending machines at city facilities.

Starting next year, city vending machines will no longer carry candy and cookies,

The decision is part of a national campaign spearheaded by first lady Michelle Obama, according to the Boulder Daily Camera.

The city’s action plan calls for providing public education about making healthy choices, supporting physical activities for the community and promoting the availability of healthy foods.
