Insurance basics class
The Mountain States Employers Council will hold a meeting from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 19 at Cheyenne Mountain Resort to discuss health insurance exchanges, employer-based insurance and wellness plans.
The group normally holds members-only meetings, but has opened this one to all businesses in Colorado Springs.
Rising Professionals – Professional Development Luncheon
The Chamber Rising Professionals will host Dr. Regina Lewis as she presents Standing On The Shoulders Of Others To See The Authentic Leader In You.
She is currently the Department Chair of the Communications Department, Assistant Dean of Communications, Humanities and Technical Studies, and director of the Women’s Forum at Pikes Peak Community College. She holds a doctorate in Philosophy of Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy.

Meeting about electric buses
Dr. Bruce Johnson of American Electric Vehicles will give a technical presentation about electric buses and the fact that Palmer Lake is the world headquarters for electric bus manufacturing.
The event is sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electrionic Engineers is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Pikes Peak Community College room W101.

Learn how to identify foundation and corporate giving programs using free online databases accessible through the Pikes Peak Library District. City class on sales and use tax basics
The City of Colorado Springs will offering a free class about sales and use tax from 9 to 11 a.m. July 27 at the City Administration Building, 30 S. Nevada Ave.
The class will cover some of the basics of the City Sales Tax Code and will help individuals understand how sales and use tax impacts businesses in the City of Colorado Springs. Attendees will learn how to prepare and file sales and use tax returns.
