Wal-Mart confirms data center plans

Wal-mart confirmed today that it plans to move forward with plans to build a 210,000-square-foot data center on a 24-acre site in the Interquest development in northern Colorado Springs.

Construction is scheduled to begin  in October 2011.

The data center is expected to employ 30 full-time workers.

Wal-Mart operates 11 retail facilities in the Colorado Springs area that employ more than 3,000 people.
