Alifiya Tyabji, M.D., has joined the team at Peak Vista’s Pediatric Health Center on International Circle. Tyabji received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and her doctor of medicine degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond. Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Tyabji is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Michele McKinney has been named external affairs and advocacy director for the University of Colorado four-campus system. She will oversee CU’s state and national efforts to build a network to convey the university’s educational, research and economic contributions to Colorado and beyond, as well as to raise awareness about issues affecting higher education. The program will focus primarily on advocacy activities related to legislative issues, fundraising and reputation. She will work with CU’s operations in alumni relations, fundraising, government relations and campus outreach.

Bob Manderfield, senior loan officer, was top producer in the most recent production cycle for Cherry Creek Mortgage Company. He was recently presented with the 2010 Annual Production Award as the top originator in the country for Cherry Creek Mortgage in total purchase loans closed. Manderfield works in the downtown Colorado Springs office and specializes in VA and FHA home loans.

Regional mortgage banker Scott Seitz joins the team at First Commercial Bank’s Colorado Springs banking center, 115 N. Tejon St. Seitz brings 16 years of mortgage lending experience to First Commercial Bank and specializes in conventional loan programs as well as government mortgage products, including FHA and VA loans.

Julie Brainard has been named regional manager in Colorado for Assurity at Work, the worksite sales division of Assurity Life Insurance Company, which is headquartered in Nebraska. Brainard has more than 25 years of experience in both management and sales capacities in the employee benefits arena, from the carrier and third-party administrator sides as well as national brokerages.

Memorial Health System named pediatric cardiologist Mark Duster, M.D., as the new medical director of Memorial Hospital for Children. Duster will help oversee southern Colorado’s only nationally-designated children’s hospital. The hospital is home to the region’s largest and most advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Duster has been a practicing physician in Colorado Springs since 1984.

Cheyenne Village announced the election of new board member, Lea Geiser Hayler, CPA. Hayler is a senior manager with BKD, LLP. She works with not-for-profit and healthcare organizations including religious organizations, foundations, mental health centers, not-for-profit hospitals, long-term care facilities and home health agencies. She was the recipient of the Colorado Springs Business Journal Rising Star Award in 2011.
