Attorney General John Suthers reached a settlement with Real Talk Network, David A Burke and Melodie Burke to keep the company from selling, marketing or advertising any debt relief services.

The company will also pay the state $226,414, including $200,000 in consumer restitution, as part of the settlement.

The settlement results from a lawsuit from the office of the attorney filed against Real Talk Network in July 2010 that addressed allegations that the company’s infomercials falsely promised that they could help consumers get out of debt and pay their mortgages in less than 10 years.

Consumers who believe they have been defrauded by a business can file a complaint with the office of the attorney general.
