I am so excited for this to be happening! I've seen the fragmentation of leaders, the finger-pointing, the responsibility shifting, and I think it is holding our community back. Finally, our government leadership will have a single point of contact for business development in our region. We've all seen how well that has served Denver, Oklahoma City, and other communities. Obviously, with more power comes more responsibility, but I'm confident we'll make sure this combined organization has the right executives at the helm.

Good job to everyone involved in evaluating this complex issue.

Before we jump into a merger, I believe each organization's members need to have a voice. Has the membership been polled to determine if this is what they think is best for the city? Please do you due diligence to ensure that you are making the right decision based on the members opinion. My vote is NO, as I believe that the mission of the organizations is very different. I do think they need to work closely, but I think separate boards and staff should continue as we now have it structured. I have noticed in the past few years a difference in their relationship. They have worked together, and I hope this will continue.

Just hope good Chamber folks are not lost in this transition......but I do have high hopes for an organization that would represent all Colorado Springs businesses of all kinds - large and small, not just the elite ones.
