Jimmy Johns, a gourmet sandwich shop with growing national popularity, is slated to slip into a spot at the Chapel Hills Mall this fall.

Construction on the 1,665-square-foot restaurant has started on the mall property near the intersection of Briargate Boulevard and Agora Point, according to a release from the mall’s new ownership, Coyote Management.

Coyote Management bought the mall in a bankruptcy sale after previous owners General Growth failed last year.

“We are excited to welcome Jimmy John’s to Chapel Hills Mall, and we value their commitment to quality food for our shoppers,” Chapel Hills general manager David Moss said in a statement.

Jimmy Johns, started by 19-year-old Jimmy John Liautaud in Charleston, Ill., in 1983, is known for its fresh ingredients and quick sandwich assembly.
