CSU seeks public comment on gas plan

Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking public comment for its 2011 natural gas integrated resource plan.

The plant is posted at the CSU web site. As a local distribution company, Colorado Springs Utilities manages the natural gas supply and the distribution system required to physically deliver natural gas to customers.

The updated plan is intended to make sure that the gas supply and the distribution system are adequate to provide safe, reliable and cost effective natural gas service to customers for thenext 10years.

The planning process started a year ago, and the utilities company held a public hearing last June. When finalized the plan will guide natural gas acquisition, conservation, demand-side management and needed projects to meet customer demand.

Deadline for comment is Aug. 27.
