AG files complaint against second Fla. firm

The Colorado attorney general has filed a complaint against a Florida-based company suspected of engaging in unregistered debt management services for Colorado consumers.

Consumer and Business Debt Counseling services is suspected of providing back end debt management services for the Johnson Law Group, another Orlando, Fla.-based company that, earlier this year, the state has filed a lawsuit against, said John Suthers, state attorney general.

The Office of the Attorney General secured a $594,000 judgment against a similar Florida-based company in mid-August. That company, Enhanced Servicing Solutions, also provided “back end” debt management services for the Johnson Law Group.

Debt management companies are required by law to register with the state.
