Cheyenne Mountain Zoo celebrates military personnel with discounted ticket prices

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is celebrating military personnel and their families with discounted ticket prices Sept. 12-18.

Instead of limiting the military discounts to a weekend, the zoo has extended it to the entire week, officials said.

During Military Appreciation Week, all active duty and retired military members and their families receive zoo admission for $5.25 per person, a discount of up to $6 off regular military rates.

“It’s one small way we can recognize how much we appreciate the many military families in our community making such huge sacrifices on the public’s behalf,” said Bob Chastain, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo president. “With so many service members returning from duty, it’s an excellent opportunity to invite them to gather as a family and spend some quality time together while experiencing the natural world.”

To receive the discount, present valid military identification at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo admissions booth. Military personnel also receive 10 percent off merchandise in the Thundergod Gift Shop.

Military Appreciation Week is sponsored by Toyota of Colorado Springs, Liberty Toyota, Ent, Colorado Springs Pediatric Dentistry, SpringsMilitaryLife.com, Y96.9 and 107.9 KDZA.
