Colorado lawmakers are promoting a tax amnesty program they hope will bring in millions of dollars.

Delinquent taxpayers will have 45 days starting Oct. 1 to pay the state what they owe at half the interest rate and without penalty or criminal prosecution.

The program being promoted on Monday applies to individuals and businesses that still owe money on taxes due last December.

Lawmakers say they hope the program will bring at least $10 million to the state’s coffers.
