Navy Federal opens second Springs branch near Fort Carson

The Navy Federal Credit Union will open its newest branch at 6916 Mesa Ridge Parkway, close to Fort Carson.

The credit union is set to open Monday, and will serve the 66,500 Department of Defense personnel and their families, according to a press release about the opening.

Navy Federal will be housed in a 2,450-square-foot building in the Markets of Mesa Ridge, three miles from Fort Carson’s gate 20. Lobby hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The credit union has grown by 1.1 million members since it expanded in 2008, and included 226,000 Army, Air Force and DoD personnel. In 2009, it opened branches near Peterson Air Force Base and Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora.

It is the world’s largest credit union, with $45 billion in assets, 219 branch offices and more than 3.7 million members. It has more than 8,000 employees.
