Chief Deputy District Attorney Shannon Marie Gerhart, of the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office, is this year’s recipient of the Prosecutor of the Year-Robert R. Gallagher Award. The honor recognizes leadership and excellence. Gerhart’s career with the Fourth Judicial District began as a summer intern while she attended law school at the University of Oklahoma. After passing the bar exam in 2001 she was hired as a county court deputy.

Greccio Housing, a local nonprofit that provides service-enriched, affordable housing, has named Patty Compton as director of property management. Compton has worked at Greccio for two years as its bookkeeper and has 25 years of experience in accounting and administration, project coordination and property management. Victoria Stone was named resident enrichment manager. Stone comes to Greccio from Urban Peak, a homeless shelter for teens, where she spent the past three years as an outreach specialist. She has a degree in human services management, is bilingual, and also volunteers for numerous other social services organization expanding Greccio’s reach into the community.

The Colorado Hospital Association elected new members to the CHA Board of Trustees. John R. Gardner, chief executive officer of Yuma District Hospital and Clinics in Yuma, was elected as chairman. George Hayes, president and chief executive officer of Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland was appointed as chairman-elect. Mike Baxter, chief executive officer of Parkview Medical Center inPueblo was named secretary/treasurer.

Linda Y. Leitz, CFP, EA of Pinnacle Financial Concepts, Inc., has been appointed to the board of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors. This organization is devoted to high standards within the industry through its commitment to fee-only comprehensive financial planning provided by highly trained professionals who are held to a fiduciary standard of conduct.

HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Colorado Springs has named David A. Richman as medical director responsible for overseeing the hospital’s clinical staff and rehabilitative programs. Richman brings nearly 20 years of experience to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Colorado Springs. He is a member of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as the American Board of Pain Medicine and is a board-certified physician in those specialties.

Stockman Kast Ryan + Co., a certified public accounting firm in Southern Colorado, announced the promotions of the following employees: Jordan Empey, CPA, has been promoted to supervising tax senior. Empey graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Oral Roberts University and has been with the firm for more than five years. He will supervise and coach tax consultants as well as review tax returns. Mike Petersen has been promoted to senior tax consultant. Peterson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. In his new role he will prepare and review tax returns.
