Fewer people own their own homes after the Great Recession, reports the Christian Science Monitor. In fact, rates of home ownership are at the lowest level since the Great Depression.
The rate of people who own their own homes dropped 65.1 percent last year. Analysts are unsure if the country will ever return to the 1970s, when 70 percent of the homes in the country were owned by their residents.
