Level 3 switches stock to New York Stock Exchange

Level 3 Communications has transferred all its stock to the New York Stock Exchange.

The Broomfield-based announced the completion of the move on Thursday. To mark the occasion, executives from the Broomfield-based company rang the opening bell at the exchange.

Level 3 operates a long-distance telecommunications network and recently acquired Global Crossing in a stock swap valued at about $2 billion. Following that deal, Level 3 said it would transfer its shares to the New York Stock Exchange from the Nasdaq Global Select Market. It is using the same ticker symbol — LVLT.
