The Mountain Metropolitan Transit services will start fall changes at the end of the month.
In order to maintain efficient operations, Mountain Metro changes its routes once or twice a year, according to the city of Colorado Springs.
The upcoming changes include:
Route 8 – a five block section on Willamette Avenue will be relocated to Cache La Poudre Street this will reduce duplicative routing and improve service to Colorado College and Palmer High School. New route begins Oct. 31.
Route 12 – A four-block segment of El Paso Street and a two-block section of Kiowa will be relocated to Wahsatch Avenue and Willamette Avenue. This will improve on-time performance and reduce out-of-direction travel. A two-block section of E. Buena Ventura Street will be relocated to E. Caramillo Street to eliminate a problematic intersection. The new route will start Oct. 31.
Route 25 – There will be minor schedule adjustments to address recent construction completion at the intersection of Woodmen Road and Academy Boulevard. New schedule begins Oct. 31.
Ute Pass Express – the last day of the Ute Pass Express service will be Friday, Oct. 28. Service is being elinated due to the close of the federal grant period, low ridership and lack of money.
