CPI falls unexpectedly in October

The cost of living unexpectedly dipped last month, a sign that inflationary pressures might be starting to recede.

Bloomberg reports that the consumer price index dropped .1 percent after a .3 percent rise in September.

Receding prices for raw goods could allow retailers to keep prices low this holiday season.
