100 top figure skaters set to compete in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs will host the 2012 International Skating Union Four Continents Figure Skating Championship at the World Arena Feb. 7-12, 2012.

The internationally recognized event is ISU sanctioned and will feature 100 top figure skaters from North America, Asia, Australia and Africa.

Tickets go on sale Nov. 29.

U.S. Team pairs Caydee Denney and John Coughlin, who train in Colorado Springs and finished fourth in the recent 2011 Skate America event in Ontario, Calif., will be on hand today from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at the World Arena to celebrate the upcoming event. About 200 children and their families are expected on the ice, as the World Arena hosts its annual Community Skate Nov. 21-23 from 12 to 3 p.m. daily
