Devra Ashby, public information officer for Colorado Springs School District 11, was accredited by the Public Relations Society of America. Accreditation certifies that Ashby has demonstrated competency in the knowledge, skills and abilities required to effectively practice PR in today’s competitive environment.

The Community Health Partnership named Sherry Britton as business manager and Steve Sellers as program manager. Britton is experienced in finance, payroll and human resources. As business manager she is responsible for general accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll and human resources functions. Sellers has a bachelor’s degree in health education from Purdue University and a background in public health. He is responsible for contract functions for the Region Care Collaborative Organization for Region 7 — Community Care of Central Colorado and the Community Access to Coordinated Health programs, as well as other programs CHP supports.

The Royal Gorge Route Railroad has named Steve Kaverman general manager. The Royal Gorge Route Railroad is a privately owned Colorado attraction and has about 100,000 visitors a year. Kaverman brings management experience and passion for tourism to the train.

Dave Karstens, an American Family Insurance Agent in Colorado Springs, has been recognized for customer satisfaction excellence under the J.D. Powers and Associates Distinguished Insurance Agency program. Karstens has represented American Family for over 33 years.

Allstate Insurance Company promoted John A. Kane to field vice president for the West Central Region, which serves Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and North and South Dakota. Kane has 35 years of experience and will be responsible for working with the region’s field senior vice president on the overall operation of the nine-state region working on sales, compliance, accounting and expenses, communications, field product operations, agency support and marketing.

John Cassiani, from Banning Lewis Ranch, was installed as president of the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs. 2011 HBA President Kyle Campbell with Classic Homes moved into the position of immediate past president, and John Bissett with JM Weston Homes was installed as the HBA president elect. Newly elected board members are: Greg Barbuto, Banning Lewis Ranch; Mike Fenton, Century Communities; Michelle Grove-Reiland, High Country Homes; Mark Long, Vanguard Homes; Carrie Bartow, Clifton Gunderson and Gary Markle, Central Bancorp.

The Arc of the Pikes Peak Region appointed Wilfred Romero as its new executive director. Romero joins The Arc PPR from Booz/Allen/Hamilton, where he provided guidance and instruction to leadership teams throughout his assigned region. He also has program design and management experience with the Department of Health & Human Services (USA/Puerto Rico) and leadership experience with the Boys & Girls Club of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Head Start in Cheyenne, Wyo. and Southern Colorado.
