Heather Carr has joined Business Furniture Systems as an account representative. She has an associate’s degree in early childhood education and recently relocated to Colorado Springs from Arizona. Previously, she was a prevention specialist, who worked within her community to promote education and awareness about substance abuse.
Linear Manufacturing has named Michael Lovell to the position of production manager to streamline processes in anticipation of continued growth through the end of the year and into fiscal year 2012. Lovell is responsible for overseeing Linear’s production, process engineering and general facilities operations.
KOAA 5 announced the appointment of Michael Langley as news director for News 5. Langley has an extensive broadcast journalism background including stints at CBS affiliate KOVR in Sacramento, Calif., Fox 5 in Washington, D.C., and most recently as assistant news director for KXTV in Sacramento. He has a passion for social media interaction and multi-media news coverage.
Dale Spencer, D.O., has joined Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care as a full-time associate medical director. His addition allows PPHPC to increase outreach to patients of all ages who need hospice support and palliative consultation. He will see patients in home care, assisted living and long term care facilities and at the Pikes Peak Hospice Unit at Penrose Hospital. Spencer attended Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and trained as a family medicine resident at Womack Army Medical Center. He is board certified in family medicine.
Life Care Physician Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Life Care Centers of America, hired Debbie Urioste, M.D., as a full-time, on-site physician at Life Care Center of Pueblo. Urioste is the second doctor hired as part of Life Care’s initiative to place full-time physicians in Life Care Centers of America’s buildings in Colorado. University Park Care Center, also in Pueblo, hired the first in October.
Pikes Peak Community Action Agency announced the following new members to their 2012 Board of Directors: Edna Carol Ferrara, A.J. Hoerth, Mayor Jeri Howells and new board president Bryan Seale.
Centura Health’s South State Hospital Group has announced new leadership roles meant to enhance its structure and allow more collaboration and coordination within its Southern Colorado entities.
Dr. Stephen Brown III has been named the chief medical officer for South State Hospital Group. He has been the CMO for Centura Health since 2008 and will continue that role while changing delegation of certain responsibilities as the CMO for St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center.
Nate Olson has been named the South State Hospital Group vice president of distributed delivery. He will also continue serving as the CEO of St. Francis Medical Center.
Larry Seidl has been named the South State Hospital Group vice president of mission integration. He has been the VP of mission integration for Penrose-St. Francis Health Services for the past five years.
Johnny Rea has been named the South State Hospital Group vice president of strategic marketing and communications. He has been with Penrose-St. Francis Health Services since 2007, serving as the manager of marketing and public relations, and then director of strategic marketing and communications. Jim Humphrey will continue to serve as the vice president of talent resources and human resources for South State Hospital Group. He began his group role in May 2010.
