Thousands of Coloradans who were promised up to $700 in government rebates for buying energy-saving furnaces or insulation are still waiting for their rebates.
Some people have been waiting for up to a year.
The Governor’s Energy Office says it allocated federal stimulus funds for use in other programs first. When those programs were completed, leftover funds were reallocated to pay rebates.
Spokeswoman Stacey Simms says about 3,000 rebate claims remain unpaid and will be paid by the end of the year.
