Two businesses are opening this month under the Colorado Avenue bridge at 109 S. Sierra Madre St.
Mary Beth Cipoletti is opening Auction House 109 in the the former location of Ross Auction, which moved seven blocks down the street about a year ago.
Auction House 109 will also include a high-end consignment shop, called Little London Market, that will sell women’s clothing as well as modern and antique furnishings.
“I just think there is a need,” Cipoletti said. “There are a lot of people out there who have beautiful things and they’re ready to move on and get something different but the things are just too beautiful to put in a garage sale.”
Cipoletti managed an inn for several years and has recently been working as an interior designer and staging homes for sale.
She lives downtown and believes there is a need and an interest in a space like Auction House 109 and the Little London Market at 109.
In addition to hosting high-end auctions and offering quality consignment items, Cipoletti envisions the space becoming a bustling market for artisans and food in the spring and summer.
The Little London Market consignment shop is open now, and the first auction will include items from the Hearthstone Inn and will take place in early February.
Cipoletti said she also expects to host a large grand opening event at the Little London Market in early January.
