Death-by-smartphone spurs camera makers

Samsung, Cannon and Sony are working hard to make sure their latest models don’t get killed by the smartphone industry, reports Bloomberg.

The top camera makers are expected unveil a dozen or more cheaper digital cameras this week, at the Consumer Electronics Show.

The hope is the new models can offset a crippling slide in the introductory camera market.
