With skiers staying away frm the ski slopes this winter, the Colorado Tourism Office has launched a promotion to attract people to the state’s resorts.
The Denver Business Journal is reporting that the office took out a full-page ad in the New York Times, announcing that snow had arrived in the state.
The four-color ad cost roughly $50,000 and is designed to let people know about the heavy snowfall last weekend.
The last time the office made a similar buy was in 2002, when a series of wildfires kept summer tourists away.
