Centura Health affiliates with two hospitals in the San Luis Valley

Centura Health recently signed an affiliation and service agreement with two hospitals in San Luis Valley, expanding the scope of Centura’s reach to the Western Slope.

Rio Grande Hospital in Del Norte and Conejos County Hospital in La Jara are now partners with Centura. The affiliation establishes an expanded system of care for both hospitals and gives patients access to Colorado’s largest health care network.

While care will be delivered locally, Centura will provide specific resources and services to develop shared programs to complement and expand clinical services. The collaboration also promotes sharing of best practices between clinical professionas.

Rio Grande Hospital becomes the fifth independent affiliate and Conejos County Hospital becomes the sixth independent affiliate to unite with the Centura Health network, joining San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colo., Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Salida, Colo., Kremmling Memorial Hospital District in Kremmling and Granby, Colo. and Goodland Regional Medical Center in Goodland, Kansas.

The challenge of delivering health care affordably means that hospital must seek joint ventures, affiliations and partnerships.
