Google wins nod to buy Motorola

Google won U.S. antitrust approval to buy Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion, reports Bloomberg.

The acquisition gives Google 17,000 additional patents in one of the largest deals in a decade. The U.S. Justice Department said the patent purchases would not harm competition in the cell phone market.
