Duane Craft, P.E., has been appointed office manager of Kumar & Associates, Inc. in the Colorado Springs office. Craft has more than 18 years experience in the areas of geotechnical engineering, subsurface exploration, project management and construction inspection and materials testing. Craft has been with K+A for nearly 14 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

The Women’s Resource Agency has added three new members to its board of directors: Lynda Nesheim, tax manager at Stockman Kast + Co; Sharon Nehmeth, community volunteer (former teacher in D-11); and Russell Romero, director of business development for Aspen Pointe.

Ryan Hybarger joined CB Insurance, an affiliate of locally-owned Central Bancorp. Prior to joining CB Insurance, Hybarger worked for Lockton, Inc. — an insurance, risk management and employee benefits specialist firm in Kansas City, Mo. — in its health care and financial institutions practice. He also worked as a treasury analyst for National Oilwell Varco in Houston.

Joshua Wallace joined SSA, P.C. as a member of its tax team. Wallace is a native of Colorado and a recent graduate of UCCS where he received his bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting.

James Pontious is the new western sales manager for Voith Turbo’s Rail Division. In his position, Pontious focuses on sales in the western United States. He brings 15 years of sales experience to the position and was most recently in the information technology industry. Pontious has worked for seven years in passenger transit rail and freight rail sales.

Colorado Community College System announced the appointment of Shelley Thompson as executive director for the CCCS Foundation. Thompson currently serves as the director of donor relations and major gifts for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. She received her master’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado Boulder and her bachelor’s degree in politics and government from the University of Puget Sound.

Christopher Sherry, PE, with Merrick & Company has been promoted to senior vice president, where his responsibilities include leading the firm’s business and corporate development group. Some of Sherry’s responsibilities include the planning, development and implementation of the company’s business development, marketing and merger and acquisition programs, including all subsidiaries.

Kirkpatrick Bank promoted Bill Koch to senior vice president and is a commercial lender for the bank’s Colorado Springs office. He also handles special assets. He has been with Kirkpatrick Bank for five years and is active on the board of Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers.

Derek Hemmer of Rocky Mountain Bank & Trust was named “2011 Emerging Small Business Lender of The Year” at Colorado Lending Source’s Annual Meeting. The award is Colorado Lending Source’s way of recognizing individual lenders and private sector lending institutions that have materially increased business lending activity utilizing Small Business Administration loan programs in partnership with Colorado Lending Source.

Bob Landry joined RE/MAX Advantage. He is a long time resident of Colorado Springs and has achieved the quality service certification at the platinum level. He has experience as a Colorado Springs Realtor in all areas in El Paso County. Todd Hanawalt, an experienced Realtor, has joined the RE/MAX Advantage. He is a long-term resident with experience as a mortgage broker and the home building business.
