The Mining Exchange, a Wyndham Grand Hotel scheduled to open downtown this spring, announced today that it is now accepting reservations for June 1 and beyond.
The hotel has been accepting group and event reservations for two weeks, but just started allowing individual online room reservations today. Hotel management expects to open the doors in mid- to late-April, according to a press release from the Mining Exchange.
The Mining Exchange was once the bustling center of commerce in Colorado Springs, where the wealthy and entrepreneurial gathered to trade stocks, bonds, precious metals and other commodities. Owner Perry Sanders insisted that the renovation of the historic building highlight its history.
As a result, there are exposed brick walls and original wood floors in parts of the hotel along with several vaults throughout the building where valuables were once stored. They’re open and have become showcase pieces in the 117-room boutique hotel.
Grand opening special rates for two people on Friday, June 2 range from $270 to $399 per night, according to the online booking portal.
