Vans to open official store at Chapel Hills

The Chapel Hills Mall announced today that an official Vans store will begin construction on a 2,700-square foot space near J.C. Penney next week.

Vans, an active footwear company, “is a leading lifestyle brand for today’s youth,” according to a press release from the mall.

This will be the first official Vans store in Colorado Springs, but there are several in Denver and Boulder.

It’s expected to open in April, said Chapel Hills general manager Victoria Harley.

The new store will take the place of temporary tenant Fashion Sequoia, which moved closer to the movie theater, Harley said.

She said the mall didn’t have any market research about how much traffic the store might bring in, but that it will almost certainly have a positive impact.

“Any new store will bring additional traffic just because people want to experience something new,” she said.
