Financial planning and management consultants received the most consumer complaints last year, according to the Colorado attorney general’s office.
That was followed by complaints about cable and satellite television utility providers, mail fraud, health and medical services and tanning salons.
Consumers filed 7,297 complaints with the attorney general in 2011, a 12.9 percent increase over 2010.
Financial planning and management consultants received 410 complaints. Specific companies receiving the highest number of consumer complaints included Dalbey Education Institute (407), Corporate Controllers Unit (231), Heart Check America (189), DirecTV (167), At The Beach (157) and Dish Network (107).
