COPPeR launches new Peak Arts fund

The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region announced  the launch of its new Peak Arts Fund today.

The fund is designed to increase funding for 15 area arts organizations and build partnerships between the business and the arts community.

Businesses and employees can give to the fund. An annual donation of $60 or more earns the donor a Peak Arts card, which entitles the holder to discounts at all  15 arts organizations supported through the fund, as well as at several local restaurants, said Christina McGrath, executive director of COPPeR.

“Business and the arts are inextricably linked,” said Dave Csintyan, interim CEO of the combined Economic Development Corp. and Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Csintyan said he believes a strong arts community will help attract and retain young professionals and new businesses to the community.

“I think this is clearly the way forward for our community,” he said.
