The Broadmoor named best in state for its meeting space

The Boradmoor was named the best hotel or resort with meeting/event space this week by readers of the Colorado Meetings + Events magazine.

The Broadmoor hotel and resort is the best meeting place, outside of Denver, and its audio visual team is the best in the state, according to the readers of Colorado Meetings + Events magazine.

The Broadmoor and J&S Audio Visual Inc. were named among the best in the state March 6 at the sixth annual Colorado Meetings + Events magazine Best of Colorado awards celebration held in Denver, where more than 500 event planners from across the state gathered.

Colorado Springs-based Cravings Catering won an award for best caterer outside the Denver market.

The readers’ choice awards honor the dedication and creativity of event professionals who have earned the respect and admiration of their clients and peers, event officials said. The award winners for 20 categories were selected through an online reader poll.

Readers named the Denver Zoo as the best attraction and VisitDenver, the Convention & Visitors Bureau, as the best destination marketing organization where this is more than 25,000 population and Go Breck as the best where there is less than 25,000 population.

The Broadmoor was named best resort, outside of Denver, with meeting and event space. The hotel has 185,000 square feet of meeting space and group meetings make up about 70 percent of all room bookings, according to Broadmoor marketing officials.

In addition to the 20 “Best Of” categories, there were four Editor’s Pick awards and eight Hall of Fame inductees, chosen by the magazine’s editorial advisory board made up of industry professionals from around the state. Colorado Meetings + Events magazine is one of seven regional meetings and events magazines published by Tiger Oak Publications, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn.  The magazine focuses on the issues facing today’s meeting and event professionals in Colorado and beyond.

“We are pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions of these organizations and individuals to the meetings and events industry, which plays an important role in Colorado’s vitality and economy,” said Beth Buehler, Colorado Meetings + Events magazine editor.
