Cheyenne Mountain Library hosts a Minding Your Business class at 6 p.m. for those interested in learning how to research starting or growing a business. This class covers print sources, electronic databases and websites to find information on industry, competition, vendors, financials, marketing, demographics and more.
Start-up Basics
SCORE hosts a free workshop 6 to 9 p.m. at Fountain Corporate Center, 3595 East Fountain Blvd. to help entrepreneurs assess and document their business plans. SCORE is a national volunteer association, sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, providing free and confidential counseling and seminars to small businesses. Business After Hours
The Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce hosts “Business After Hours” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Inn at Palmer Divide, 443 S. Highway 105, Palmer Lake. Cost is free for members; $5 for partner members and $10 for nonmembers.
Speed Networking
The Greater Colorado Springs Chamber and EDC host speed networking luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Pikes Peak Library District, East Library, 5550 N. This class covers print sources, electronic databases and websites to find information on industry, competition, vendors, financials, marketing, demographics and more.
Sales Tax Class
The Colorado Department of Revenue offers a three-hour business tax class from 1 to 4 p.m. on the laws surrounding state sales and use taxes for Colorado businesses. This class is for new businesses, taxpayers considering opening a business, tax preparers consulting with Colorado clients on this topic, and/or those who need a refresher course on Colorado sales/use tax laws. Excel I
Participants will learn how to set up, manipulate and format a basic spreadsheet. Prerequisites: Computer 101 or experience using a mouse and keyboard.
