U.S. shopping centers increase occupancy rates

Shopping centers and malls had a positive gain in occupancy levels during the slow recovery of the first quarter, according to Bloomberg News.

Occupied space rose at levels equal to 2008, before the recession started.

In addition, U.S. chain store sales increased 4.1 percent over the previous year, showing more consumer confidence.
