Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach has filled several vacant positions in his administration – including an interim planning director.
Kyle Campbell will be the new interim director of planning. Campbell is getting paid $175 an hour, which city officials say is the standard consultant fee. Campbell was chosen for the position because of his 20-year private sector experience as a planning/engineering consultant. H will work to “transform the public’s experience with the city in the processing of plans and permits,” according to the city’s press release.
Helen Migchelbrink will become the new director of public works and city engineer. The new combined position will allow the city to consolidate and realign staff resources. She has management and technical experience from Fort Collins and Vail Valley.
Finally, Kathleen Krager will be the city’s transportation manager. She currently works in the department.
“With the impending realignment of services and staff, it is this administration’s goal to create a productive work environment for both staff and users,” Bach said in the announcement.
